A converter is often simply called a pump. It is the traditional way of filling a fountain pen with ink. Today almost all fountain pens accept both methods, so you can choose between a converter and cartridges. Although it costs more up front (unless the pen already comes with a converter from the factory, as more expensive models do - check the specifications), a converter has proven to be a good, economical choice over time. It draws ink straight from the bottle and lasts for a very long time. Parker converters come in a deluxe version (twist piston with a thread) and a standard version (push piston). Damage caused by misuse is not covered by the manufacturer's warranty. Parker converters are compatible with all Parker fountain pens. Made in France.
